Why is all the stuff the military gives us so shitty?

Because it either has been used by 50 others or it has been neglected by military distribution channels, causing standards to be low.

Standard issue equipment is garbage!

Was any of the gear bad?

For the most part no. Some of the socks would tear easily, the shirts were thin, and the computer lasing systems would freeze sometimes. Everything else was clean.
