Civilian life does not really benefit from PMC, other than the amount of money you can rack up from contract/consulting work. Not many people make a career from being a contractor. You only sign a 6 month tenure, then afterwards if you want to stay in you are a supervisor which means no more contracts but work is with the company in their offices. Nobody is allowed to be in the field for no more than 6 months. You sign a contract, deploy, do the business- then come back for another. I did 5 contracts in 6 months which is pretty good. Most people do about 3 in that amount of time, some have done up to 7. The best candidate for PMC is someone who has worked in SOCOM as they typically recruit from there. My co workers were all former SEALs and Rangers. Great group of guys. PMC was sorta the closing chapter of kicking in doors.
